The Book Club

The perfect place for a non-native speaker, a newcomer, and someone who wants to read more books, improve their English and find new friends

GC Book Club Benefits

Knowledge.

Everything you read fills your head with new bits of information, and you never know when it might come in handy. The more knowledge you have, the better-equipped you are to tackle any challenge you’ll ever face. Not only does regular reading help make you smarter, but it can also actually increase your brainpower.

Language.

Be ready to hear Grammar mistakes and see hand gestures replacing words, we are all learners here and that is exactly why we created GC Book Club, so you have a place to improve reading, speaking and writing in English by having fun and making friends at the same time.

Community.

Join our private Facebook page and meet newcomers and immigrants from all over Canada. Meet other members who you can swap the books with (post- pandemic, of course) and cheer each other to finish books or try new genres (encouraged during the pandemic and after).

People.

GC Book Club is a welcome place for strangers. Sometimes reading as a social activity can bridge differences of opinion and bring people together in new ways. Just hanging out and talking about your own lives in relation to the book you’re reading is healthy and enjoyable. It’s a safe place to exchange ideas!
